Meet Your Equine Massage Therapist

I’m Kaylee Horton, a Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist with a deep passion for helping horses feel their best—inside and out. My journey in equine massage and equine rehabilitation has been shaped by my love for horses.

I've always been drawn to the healing power of bodywork. After spending over a decade around horses, I realized that combining these two passions was exactly where I was meant to be.

I’ve worked with horses for 12 years—from 4-H to collegiate riding—and horses have truly shaped my life. Knowing I wanted a career centered around them, I attended Lake Erie College, where I majored in Equine Facility Management. As a liberal arts college, Lake Erie gave me a well-rounded education while allowing me to fully immerse myself in the equine world.

My college experience was both educational and hands-on. I took classes on everything from equine anatomy, lameness, and nutrition to the basics of teaching riding. I was also actively involved in campus life—riding on two amazing teams. I served as the Secretary of the Dressage Team for three years and finished my senior year as President. I also joined the Western Team during my final year, which was an incredible experience.

Lake Erie College is also where my journey in equine massage therapy began. My senior year, I joined their Equine Rehabilitation concentration. With a flexible schedule and strong interest, I was able to take every class offered—and that’s where my passion for equine bodywork truly ignited.

Here's an overview of the Equine Rehabilitation classes I've taken:

🌀 Intro to Equine Massage

Focused on in-depth anatomy, the benefits and contraindications of massage, and foundational sports massage techniques.

🌀 Equine Biomechanics

Explored how the horse’s body moves, how to palpate soft tissue and bone structures, and evaluate movement patterns.

🌀 Advanced Equine Massage

Specialized in lymphatic drainage and myofascial release techniques.

🌀 Intro to Equine Rehabilitation

Covered multiple rehab modalities including PEMF, Equivibe, red light therapy, cold laser, balance pads, and strengthening exercises. We also created individualized rehab plans for the case study horses we worked on.

With every class, my love for the art and science of equine bodywork has grown. I’m committed to furthering my education and adding more modalities to my practice as I progress.

With the training I have—and the continuing education I pursue—my goal is to provide your horse with the most personalized equine care services possible. Every session is centered on connection, comfort, and results. I work at your horse’s pace, always listening to what their body is saying.
